ICIT’s 2016 monthly Fellow meetings have drawn executives from DHS, DoD, NASA, FDIC, HHS, FCC, and Interior as the Institute shepherds the community through a cybersecurity-centric renaissance and fosters strategic collaboration with industry and academic leaders. These thought leadership forums have inspired attendees to move their organization’s cybersecurity strategies forward with innovative and actionable ideas.
In the January 2016 Fellow meeting entitled “Change Agents: The Key to Successful IT Modernization for Improved Security and Efficiency”, attendees heard a visionary and philosophical talk from the FCC Chief Information Officer David Bray on the important role individuals at all levels of an organization play in modernization efforts. In February, the Institute’s focus shifted to “Operational Innovation” and the urgent need for organizations to find the right balance between investments in technology solutions and their human capital resources. Thought leaders included ICIT Fellows Dan Waddell (ISC2), Seth Nuyland (Exabeam), Jack Miles (Centrify) and government cyber professionals like Calvin Brown (CISO, U.S. Air Force Washington District).
ICIT will continue to provide educational forums in the coming months including the March 17th Fellow Meeting on Threat Based Defenses and at the April 25th ICIT Critical Infrastructure Forum on Resiliency & Enablement at the Ritz Carlton Pentagon-City.
